Not All Podcasts Feature Fat Politicians Spewing Forth Their Opinions!

 scallyheader.jpg

I must admit I have avoided all podcasts for a long time, the last one I watched was some fat bloated what-ever-winger nearly vomiting some nonsense on what I should believe or vote for.  I swore them off after that……but alas the world of Podcast is not all that evil.  I got an e-mail from the “Godfather of the American Fire Service Piping” aka Tim Birr telling me I should check out a Podcast on Shite N’ Onions featuring his friend Barnacle Brian and the Scallywag Show.

Now, you can take two different routes with Celt Rock or Paddy Rock or Celt Punk or by what ever name you associate with that particular genre of music.  You can be a casual listener only hearing the more famous bands and never explore the grit of it…..or you can be totally dedicated and listen to those way out of the way bands from far away places.  I choose to be the latter.  Someone else has chosen to explore the grit of it as well and he goes by the name Barnacle Brian.  He is lucky enough to actually have a Podcast where you to can explore the path less traveled as far as music.

If you are only listening to the mainstream bands that are infusing Celtic sounds into rock or punk you are missing a wide range of musical talent present in the world today.  Get on Shite n’ Onionsand listen to these Podcasts…..you will not regret it.

Thank you Barnacle Brian for that trip down memory lane where music is played in over-packed kitchens and smoke filled living rooms, slurring uncles and singing grandparents, the sounds of the fiddle and mandolin.

HAPPY REPEAL DAY!!!!!

On December 5th, 1933, Congress ratified the 21st Amendment, repealing Prohibition and restoring the American right to drink alcohol.

Chantix……Smoking Cessation Aid or Test Pill For Secret Sinister Government Mind Control Program?

For years I have waged a personal battle with those little white sticks you light on one end, inhale deeply and absorb all of those delicious tasty chemicals and carcinogens.  Those evil things have held me hostage for more than a decade, I will admit I was a willing hostage perhaps even showed signs of Stockholm Syndrome.  I have tried nearly every method to quit those dirty things: gums, patches, pills, hypnotism virtually every avenue has been explored to the very end,  and at the end was the same result,  total and glorious failure.

I recently reported to my purveyor of Western Witchcraft aka my Medical Doctor to have my blood pressure checked and had it in the back of my mind I was going to discuss my smoking illness.  I have heard good things about a new pill on the marked called Chantix so it being the newest and greatest thing out I felt it my duty to take it out for a spin around the block.  After a 3 1/2 second discussion about the drug, which is only available by prescription,  I was handed the small slip of paper that told me to head to the Purveyor of Potions and Spells and he will give me the aforementioned pills.

Week one on Chantix you are supposed to smoke while you take the pills, easy enough this by far is my favorite program yet.  Week two you stop while you keep taking the funny little pills.  Week two has me nervous this is the part you have to commit,  you have to bear through the pangs of want and need for your little friends that come 20 to a pack.  I wake up on day 8……..QUIT DAY…….I feel nothing, no urges, no want.

Day 8 Middle of the day…….NOTHING I feel nothing……no urges……no bad attitude…….Smoke?????  I used to smoke but right now I don’t feel a thing????

Fast forward to day 5……Still nothing….where are you familiar urges and uncontrollable anger and disgust…..I kind of miss you?

It was as if the funny pills had made my mind and body forget that I used to smoke.  I am amazed.  I used to be such a good smoker, now I am dreaming of the days where I will be a good Non-Smoker.

Here is a Quote For My Newest Batch of Nay-Sayers and Haters
